Business Journals - Ranked by JCR Impact Factor
Business journals are listed below by 2006 Impact Factor - compiled from Journal Citation Reports (JCR) - a tool for journal citation analysis. JCR identifies the largest journals, most frequently used journals, journals with the greatest impact, and the "hottest" journals in a field. The Library holds online subscriptions to all JCR titles listed below.
JCR Measures of Journal Influence
JCR analyzes the citation patterns of journals indexed in the Social Sciences Citation Index. JCR divides business journals into two categories: Business & Management (100 journals); Finance & Accounting (37 journals). For more help, review the JCR Tutorial. JCR measures of journal influence:
Impact Factor:
Number of citations to articles published in a specific journal in a two year period divided by the total number of articles published in the same journal in the corresponding two years.
Immediacy Index:
Average number of times that an article published in a specific year within a specific journal is cited over the course of that same year.
Cited Half-Life:
Number of publication years from the current year which account for 50% of current citations received. Evaluate the age of the majority of cited articles in a journal.
Current Articles:
Journals ranked by total number of articles published in the current year.
Total Citations:
Journals ranked by the total number of times they are cited in the current year.
